Despite the large erosive seas on the East Coast of Australia there are always beach worms for bait. Only yesterday I was able to score ten thumpers … that’s all I needed. This afternoon I’ll get out there and use them to fish some of the ‘known’ spots on the beach. Book in to your class on home page HERE
The BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) are predicting strong southerly winds this afternoon so the south end of most beaches should be protected for fishing. Remember to thread your beach worms correctly onto the hook. It’s a simple process but important to get it right. Shortly I’ll be posting a lesson on the correct way to think about presenting your bait … your fish’s last meal.
Make sure you are only fishing with fresh beach worms. Worms that have been stored incorrectly will go off quickly and will not attract fish. Always beach worms for bait yes but always fresh beach worms. The best way to ensure the freshness of your beach worms is to wash them in sea water before you store them. And don’t store them for too long. Ideally catching beach worms then using them immediately or on the same day is ideal.
